Love Fall!

It has been a busy fall!  Fall is always busy for me at work with the School Store, my yearly business teacher conference, workshops and Parent/Teacher Conferences.  I can't believe the school year is 1/6 of the way done (who's counting?).

The weather has been awesome- it's my favorite time of year!  My parents came this weekend and we spent a day at the Minnesota Zoo.  We also were dog sitting for Sadie all weekend and Sage loved having her around.  Last weekend was also crazy- I spent half of the weekend in St Cloud with my Grand Forks friends Katrina and Cherie.  We had a great time visiting, drinking and shopping.  Sunday Sage and I headed to the farm to spend a couple days with family and to say goodbye to my Aunt Sandy who passed away.

Sage is going to be an owl again for Halloween.  Her costume from last year still fits, so I am going to get my moneys worth!!  We are going to the Children's Museum this week with our Amma friends.  Sage had a lot of fun last time we went to there, now to see if she keeps her costume on or not!  Next weekend we are going to St Cloud for Uncle Adam's 2nd Annual Halloween party!

Here is what else Sage has been up to:
-finished 1st gymnastics class!
-counts to 10
-has started hitting, this is tons of fun!
-says Love You all the time, this really is tons of fun!
-started to cuddle!
-has no interest in potty training
-still obsessed with Caillou
-whenever you ask her what she wants to eat or what she ate at daycare she says "pizza"

2nd Birthday Bash

We celebrated the end of summer with Sage's 2nd birthday.  Sage and Mommy had a great summer together!  It was really tough going back to work this year.  Sage is at such a fun age!  It took her a week to get adjusted to daycare and to stop telling Justin "Mommy Home!" each morning (breaks my heart).

We celebrated her birthday with friends and family.  Sage is very spoiled and received tons of awesome gifts!  Here are a few pics:

Loves her Dora fort from Uncle Adam and Terri

We have had a fun September.  Sage is in gymnastics.  It has been going great for the most part- we have had a few tears on the big trampoline.

Some 2 year highlights:
- can count to 10
-knows most of her ABC's
-talking in full sentences
-knows directions (up, down, behind, above, under, over)
-OBSESSED with Caillou
-loves to do sommersaults
- moves chairs to reach high, off limit places
-no interest in potty training
-still sleeping/going to bed like a champ so Mommy has no interest in switching to a toddler bed

Summer

I know I say this every year, but wow, I can't believe summer is almost over!  It has been a great summer!  Sage is at a fun age and we have had all sorts of adventures- Minnesota Zoo, Children's Museum, Seussical the Musical at Stages Theater, parks, pools, and a week at the lake!

We spent a whole week at the lake with my parents, brothers and cousin Katina.  Sage had a blast!  She LOVED the beach and the slide.  She also loved Grandma and Grandpa like usual.  Uncle Nick gained ground in the Favorite Uncle category!  He flew in from NYC and spent the whole week at the lake with us.  One of Sage's favorite things was pretending to sleep, waking Nick up and then exclaiming, "What happened?".  It was too cute!  She was even a dare devil and jumped in the lake off of the pontoon.  She immediately wanted out of the water.  Maybe next summer she will stay in the water.

If anyone is looking for a good book I strongly suggest Gone Girl.  I read it at the lake and it is AWESOME!

Sage turns 2 next weekend.  I can't believe it!  We have had so much fun this summer, it's going to be real tough going back to work.  I have been telling her that I will be going back to work soon and she shakes her head and says no :(

Sage's summer milestones:
-talking in sentences/phrases (some of her favorites are Mommy Come, Here You Go, Daddy Working
-independent playing
-talking to/with her toys, so cute!
-swimming in the tub and in her pool
-walking up and down the stairs all on her own (scary for mom)
-putting on her own shoes (which means she wants to wear Crocs and rubber boots in public!)
-Caillou, Caillou and more Caillou
-talks about using her potty chair, but hasn't yet
-hair is getting long and curly and she refuses to have a ponytail, headband, clips, etc

She is no longer a baby and is all toddler!

We are signing up for gymnastics this Fall!  I can't wait- I hope she likes it.

Happy Easter

Looks like I have been a big blog slacker lately! Last post was about Christmas...yikes!!

We had a great Easter weekend! Justin and I hosted, our first family holiday! We had a house full- my parents, Adam, Nick and Diane! We were excited Nick and Diane made the trip from NYC! Diane's sister Michelle and her boyfriend Paulo joined us on Easter Sunday.

The only downfall to the weekend was Sage coming down with an infection that gave her a fever and rash. This has made this week crazy since she can't go to day care because she is contagious to the little ones. I have been working half days and then running home so Justin can go to work.

Being home last week for Spring Break and the afternoons this week are making me really excited and ready for summer vacation! The weather has been so amazing! We are getting a zoo membership and I am hoping to sign Sage and I up for some sort of class somewhere! We also plan on going to story time at Amma. I want to keep us busy all summer!

We have been playing outside a lot!

A few new tricks:
-new words include ball, car (said like caaaarrrr), ow, uh uh, hockey (yes, she says gockey), Go Go (for Uncle Jo Jo), and has dropped Grandpa a few times
-I have a feeling when she starts using sentences she will talk all the time!
-constantly wants to play with my iPhone, Justin's iPhone, or the iPad
-FULL of crazy facial expressions- shock, awe, confusion, she has many faces!
-likes to give "nucks"

Merry Christmas!

Once again, I am behind in posting. It has been a busy month!

We had a great Christmas! We spent two days in Luverne. Justin's team won the alumni hockey game (he scored two goals!). We were able to see lots of friends and family. Sage loved playing with Brenn and Terran. From Luverne we headed to NoDak for two days. Nick made it home from NYC which was great. Sage got her first tractor ride from Grandpa Kiefer on his new tractor! She didn't know what to think- it was a little loud.

Sage was a trooper in the car all weekend, sleeping a ton. The weather was amazing, perfect for traveling!

I am enjoying my week off at home with Sage. She had a wellness check today and we found out that her ear infection is not gone and it is now in both ears! She also has slight bronchitis. We are now on antibiotic #3. I hope it works this time! She is such a good little girl- you would never guess she was sick! She is still happy all the time!

She has been busy playing with all her new toys- stroller, kitchen, books. She is spoiled!

Crazy Busy Fall

I'm a bit behind in posting! The school year has been a bit crazy. I have four preps including coordinating our school store, which is eating up a majority of my time. The first trimester of school is almost over, which means 1/3 of the way to summer vacation! I can't believe it! Trimester two should be a little less hectic, hopefully!

Sage is at a really fun age! She runs everywhere and waves at everyone! She is sleeping like a rockstar at night (with the exception of a few days here and there when teething) and goes down so easy. We have a mouthful of teeth- 12! She loves waving and waves to everyone when we are in public. She still loves books, but is much less serious. She is starting to babble more and laugh a lot more, which we love.

Her newest tricks include:
-signing more
-picking out books by their name when I ask her for them
-pointing to her hockey girls poster (U of M women's team)
-waving
-can identify her pretty hair, belly, eyes, ears, feet, tongue, belly and fingers
-sitting on the coffee table

I can't believe she is almost 15 months old!

Fall Fun

Fall is my favorite time of year! I love wearing jeans, scarves, and sweaters, the changing colors, and the weather! We have had company the last two weekends- both sets of grandparents! This weekend it was just the three of us. We went to Emma Krumbees in Belle Plaine. Sage was still too little for most of it, but we still had fun. We checked out the scarecrows, picked a pumpkin, and stocked up on Honey Crisp apples! Justin and Sage walked through the rope maze and we took a tractor/trailer ride.

This week is Homecoming week at school- also another Fall favorite! We are going to the football game on Friday- it will be Sage's first Packer football game!

Sage had her 1 year check up a few weeks ago. She is still long and lean! She had another round of shots which are never fun :(
